Flextank maturation trials in major wineries:

• Trials usually involved multiple Flextank units (300L 'Barrels' or 1000L 'Cubes') with Flextank or winemaker selected premium quality oak planks added, set up against new and used oak barrels and often against impermeable SS tanks (also with planks added).

• Flextank vessels are best used fully topped, i.e. ullage-free, rather than with inert-gas head spaces.

• Trial participants included (along with many other smaller wineries):

• Flextank was also invited to join a Wine Industry Tasmania run collaborative research project into improving local Sparkling and Pinot Noir Wines, along with AWRI, Uni. of Tasmania, Croplands Pty Ltd, Tamar Ridge Wines (Richard Smart). Trials were commenced at Tamar Ridge for the 2009 vintage

• Every Flextank trial that has reached or is near completion (judged usually in statistical blind tastings by panel) has produced the top wines in the trial or were judged the equivalent of the best barrels. NO negative results have been reported that were in any way caused by the Flextank vessels or system. In two reported cases only, operating errors produced erroneous results.

• Many of the wine companies trialling Flextank vessels for the 2009 vintage have now returned with multiple-unit orders for the 2010 vintage
